One Liner #3, 2018
performance
“First performed as a part of a performance series called Raw On by the Intermission artist collective in 2003, Khan Lee attempts to unravel a tightly bound roll of paper from a linear state into a spatial state. This simple action calls for physical engagement from the audience members in order to complete the transformation. It may appear to be somewhat wasteful, but Lee believes the idea of excess might be an inhabitable component of every production. With this performance, the artist visualizes a relationship where material, action and concept form something greater than the individual components.”
